Herzlich Willkommen!
Located in the forested town of Big Bear Lake, the annual Oktoberfest continuously ranks among the top Southern California festivals each year. This authentic German celebration highlights family, friendship, and togetherness.
2024 Event Dates: Sat. Sept 7 – Sat. Nov 2
German Food & Fare, Prost!
Come hungry for a German feast. Enjoy bratwurst, knockwurst, and kielbasa with home-style sauerkraut and Bavarian dumplings. Dip into the beer cheese soup, and colossal pretzels. Save room for desert because the German apple strudel and warm vanilla sauce is a dream come true!
Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest has a solid reputation for German beers: raise a stein of Spaten, Franziskaner, Warsteiner and Konig Ludwig.
Traditional Contests
Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest contests give revelers a chance to compete for prizes and bragging rights. Each contest is held to entertain participants and onlookers. Try your skills at the stein holding matches, log sawing competitions, the safe slam beer drinking races (non-alcoholic), and the annual Queen Stein Carrying Contest.
Children’s activities include a climbing wall, mechanical bull, giant inflatables and other games.
Traditional Music
Oktoberfest 2024 will feature three bands direct from Germany:
- The 10-piece band, Die Aalbachtler, from Bavaria will entertain September 21-22 and September 28-29.
- Frankenrebellen Express performs October 4-6 and October 11-13. This 8-piece band hails from Franconia and plays a fun um-pah-pah style, singing with thick German accents
- Mats’s Infinity, also from Bavaria, takes the stage October 17-19 and October 25-27. Mats’s Infinity creates lots of energy with its party-style music.
Joining the music lineup is Southern California’s top German bands – Die Sauerkrauts and Ladyhosen.
