Holloway’s Marina and RV Park
This marina has now been a part of Big Bear Lake for over 100 years. And it’s no wonder—with the wide variety of lake activities and watercraft available, there’s something for everyone here.
There are several options at your disposal for cruising the lake. Rent a kayak and paddle across the water as slow as you like. Try your hand at commandeering a vessel by renting a pontoon boat. You can also spend the day fishing the lake right from your boat! Big Bear Lake is one of the best places in Southern California to fish, with trout, bass, catfish, crappie, bluegill, and sunfish in abundance here.
If you’re a thrill-seeker, there are faster options, too. Speedboats and jet skis are available to send you skimming through the cool spray, a pastime that is sure to keep the heat, and boredom, at bay.
For a truly unique, fun experience, climb aboard the Big Bear Pirate Ship! This 1/3 scale replica of a 16th-century Spanish galleon gives daily tours of Big Bear Lake. Each trip is a little different as each captain driving the ship has a distinctive personality. A side note to film buffs: if you happen to be a fan of Terry Gilliam, you really won’t want to miss this cruise. The name of this vessel is Time Bandit, and that’s because this is the ship used in Gilliam’s 1981 movie Time Bandits. This makes Holloway’s Marina stand out among the marinas of Big Bear Lake.
Hollway’s Marina’s hours of operation are from 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. every day of the week. For driving directions, rates, and further information check out their website.
