Big Bear Lake offers one of Southern California’s clearest night skies—perfect for stargazing and astronomy education. SkyFest 2025 is designed to spark that wonder in everyone from families to seasoned night-sky enthusiasts.

Festival Highlights & Locations

⭐ Star Party Festival – Saturday, Aug 23 • 7–11 PM • Big Bear Discovery Center
For just $5 per person, enjoy telescope viewings hosted by the Big Bear Valley Astronomical Society, night hikes with guided stargazing, nighttime yoga, kids’ story time, fun games, s’mores—and a documentary on dark sky preservation.

Forest Sound Bath – Friday & Saturday • 7–8 PM • Action Zipline
Calm your mind with forest bathing paired with soothing singing bowls—under the canopy of towering pines. ($35 adult, $10 child; includes entry to the Star Party)

Astrophotography Workshops – Beginner: Fri, Aug 22 • 8–10 PM; Advanced: Sat, Aug 23 • 9–11 PM • Juniper Point
Led by Brady Enger of Bending Energy Photography, learn how to capture the night sky like a pro. Both workshops include admittance to the Star Party (each $25)

Snow Summit Hike & Stargaze – Fri & Sat • 9–11 PM • Snow Summit
Ride the Sky Chair to one of the best vantage points in the valley, enjoy a guided night hike, and gaze at the heavens. ($25 adult, $10 child, includes admission to Star Party)
