Halloween in Big Bear!

Are you excited about Halloween in Big Bear? Here’s where you will be spooked or find candy and have the BEST Halloween you can! The Halloween season is upon us, and spooky fun abounds all October long. Trick-or-treat from store to store or along Rathbun Creek Trail, visit the Zoo at night for an eerie tour and dare to enter the haunted Mystery Maze. Discover some of Big Bear’s own ghoulish history, and be sure to get out to take in the season’s beautiful fall foliage.

TWILIGHT SAFARIS

Twilight Tours at the Zoo return Oct 7-8, 14-15, and 21-22. These tours take place after regular business hours have closed. Visit BigBearZoo.org to purchase tickets in advance and to check for times.

Boo at the Zoo – Go trick-or-treating at the Zoo! Boo at the Zoo returns October 29th, and everyone is invited to show up their Halloween costumes (no sound effects please) with a bag to collect candy! Boo at the Zoo takes place during regular business hours and is included with general admission on Oct 29 only.

 

TREATS AND TRAILS

The Mountains Foundation is hosting a family fun trick-or-treating event at the Rathbun Creek Trail on Oct. 29 from 1 PM – 4 PM. Get out to enjoy Big Bear’s beauty in your favorite costume! Rathbun Creek Trail is fully paved and wheelchair accessible.

 

MYSTERY MAZE

Presented by the Big Bear Moose Lodge, this haunted maze is back for scares and eerie fun. Located at 39247 North Shore Dr, the Mystery Maze is open Fridays and Saturdays starting 10/14 from 5-9 PM with a special opening on Halloween from 5-9 PM. Tickets may be purchased at the door.

 

HALLOWEEN IN THE VILLAGE

Everyone is invited to head to The Village from 5-7 PM on Halloween to trick-or-treat from store to store. Oh – And don’t forget your costume! A special dog costume contest will take place from 4-4:30 PM at the Copper Q.

Scary Tales Halloween Variety Show

Enjoy Scary Tales, a Fun-filled Halloween Variety Show presented by local Big Bear Valley performing arts groups. Big Bear Valley Performing Arts Center Presents Scary Tales Halloween Variety Show. This community collaboration will feature thriller dance routines by Moonridge School of Dance, hilarious improv skits by Fools of Big Bear, spooky poetry by the Undead Poetry Society, sensational seasonal string performances by The Mountain Top Strings of California, and Happy-Halloween-themed vocal performances by The Big Bear High School Performing Arts program, The Mountain Marvelettes, The Chickapellas, and the Voice Studio of Diane Sloan Kubeja. This family-friendly show is the perfect way to spice up your autumn activities as well as appreciate the talented students, aspiring artists, and professional performers that make up the Big Bear community. Costumes are encouraged, and a family fun evening is to be anticipated

Locals frequent the Performing Arts Center year round for many seasonal events and shows like Scary Tales! Christmas time, they host their yearly rendition of A Christmas Carol, per tradition. If you want a night of musical theater, the PAC in Big Bear Lake does not disappoint! This state of the art facility has a spacious lobby for intermission where they sell snacks and beverages for guests to enjoy between stage changes! Comfortable rows of comfortable seating for your thrown while being taken on a musical theater journey!
